Candle and Diffuser Care Tips

Want to learn how to get the most out of your candles and diffusers? We've listed some helpful tips to prolong your fragrances and to ensure a smooth, clean burn or dispersion of scents.

How to Best Care For Your Candles

Trim the Wick Before Each Burn

Keep your wick trimmed to 5mm before lighting. This helps prevent soot, ensures a steady flame, and prolongs the life of your candle.

Let the Wax Pool on the First Burn

Burn your candle for 2–3 hours the first time (or until the wax melts edge-to-edge). This prevents tunnelling and helps your candle burn evenly every time.

Don’t Burn for Too Long

Limit burn time to 4 hours at a time. This keeps the wax from overheating and preserves fragrance integrity.

Burn on a Heat-Safe Surface

Always place your candle on a stable, heat-resistant surface, away from drafts, pets, or anything flammable.

Keep Your Candle Clean

If debris falls into the wax (like wick trimmings), remove it before relighting to maintain a clean, even burn.

Stop Burning at the Right Time

Discontinue use when 10–12mm of wax remains. This prevents overheating the base of the vessel and keeps your surfaces safe.

How to Best Care For Your Diffusers

Place in a High-Traffic Area

Airflow helps carry the scent. Placing your diffuser near a doorway, hallway, or bathroom helps distribute fragrance more effectively.

Use the Right Number of Reeds

Want a lighter scent? Use fewer reeds. Prefer something stronger? Add more. Adjust the intensity to suit your space.

Avoid Direct Sunlight & Heat

Keep your diffuser away from direct sunlight or heating vents. This prevents the fragrance from evaporating too quickly.

Give It Time

It can take 24–48 hours for the reeds to fully absorb the fragrance and begin diffusing effectively. Patience pays off.

Flip the Reeds Every 1–2 Weeks

For a scent refresh, flip your bamboo reeds regularly. Just be sure to do it over a sink or cloth to avoid drips.
